Welcome to Neilso's Marine, where we bring extensive experience and a passion for the sea to every vessel we handle. With a background spanning over a decade as a dive instructor, I have developed an unwavering love for the ocean and all things nautical. Allow me to take you on a journey through my diverse maritime career.
From 1998 to 2001, I honed my skills as the Captain of a 24-metre maintenance vessel in GBR. This role entailed the general upkeep and care of various small crafts, including managing both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines as well as generator sets. It was during this time that I cultivated a meticulous approach to maintaining vessels of all sizes.
In the following years, I ventured into the world of luxury yachts, serving as a Super Yacht Captain for six years. As an Ocean Yacht Master, I was entrusted with the delivery of top-of-the-line fishing vessels and piloted impressive 40-metre Jumbo yachts. Additionally, I spent over a year as the Captain of a 34-metre vessel, chartering along the captivating eastern coast of America and the Caribbean.
Continuing my maritime journey, I assumed the role of Fast Cat Captain in Port Douglas from 2007 to 2009, further expanding my expertise. Then, from 2009 to 2014, I served as a Construction Vessel Master for tugs, showcasing my versatility in handling different types of vessels.
In the subsequent years, from 2014 to 2023, I specialised in Pilot Towage, specifically focusing on advanced rotor tugs and Z-drive technology. Throughout my extensive experience, I have encountered and successfully navigated various challenges that arise when handling vessels. Whether it's manoeuvring large yachts with precision or conducting detailed maintenance work on smaller crafts such as Tinnies and inflatables, I pride myself on being a reliable and skilled handyman.
